Europe's largest department store group

Founded in Madrid in 1940, El Corte Inglés is the largest department store group in Europe, with around 80 department stores in Spain and Portugal, usually in the most central buildings of each city. Its beauty floors are a reference for Spanish consumers looking for selective brands.

Opening 10 El Corte Inglés doors gives Rouge Bunny Rouge immediate national visibility, with expert beauty advisors and a clientele used to discovering new selective brands in store.

Who is Rouge Bunny Rouge?

Rouge Bunny Rouge was created in 2005 by Alexandra de Montfort, who previously worked for Yohji Yamamoto and Max Mara. The brand draws on Victorian fairy tales and the idea of an Enchanted Garden, a dreamlike world reflected in every product and every name.

Today the house presents itself as an Italian selective makeup and fragrance brand, with its legal and operational headquarters in Italy. Its range covers lips, complexion and eyes, alongside a fragrance collection launched in 2012 that now includes signatures such as Incognito, Embers, Tundra and Ink.

Why selective makeup with a story is winning in Spain

  • Universe over trend: Spanish beauty clients are increasingly drawn to brands with a strong creative identity rather than short-lived trends.

  • Makeup and fragrance under one roof: a brand that covers both categories creates more reasons to visit the counter and more cross-selling opportunities.

  • Department stores as discovery hubs: El Corte Inglés remains the place where Spanish consumers try and adopt new selective brands.

How Beauty Expert Consulting built the launch

  1. Retailer targeting: identifying El Corte Inglés as the right national partner to introduce Rouge Bunny Rouge in Spain.

  2. Negotiation: structuring the listing and the door selection with the El Corte Inglés teams.

  3. Assortment: selecting the makeup and fragrance references best suited to Spanish clients.

  4. Launch coordination: aligning brand, stores and logistics across the 10 doors.

Part of a wider European rollout

El Corte Inglés is one step in a European plan. With Beauty Expert Consulting, Rouge Bunny Rouge has also entered Rinascente in Italy, April Beauty in Belgium and Müller in Croatia.

From Madrid to Milan, Rouge Bunny Rouge is rebuilding its presence in Europe's leading department stores and perfumeries.
