Beautyspace, the gateway to US department stores
Beautyspace, formerly the US wholesale division of Space NK, was acquired by PCA Companies in 2024. It curates around 150 prestige beauty brands and runs more than 750 points of distribution across Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom, Macy's, Dillard's, Walmart and Nordstrom Rack.
For a European brand, this model is a shortcut: one partner, one assortment and one field team give access to the beauty floors of America's best known department stores. Oryza Lab is now in 5 Bloomingdale's stores and online on bloomingdales.com.

Who is Oryza Lab?
Oryza Lab was born in Comporta, on the Portuguese coast south of Lisbon, among the rice fields that surround the Quinta da Comporta hotel. The brand was founded by Marianne Brass, an expert in skincare development, and Miguel Cancio Martins.
Its signature is rice in every formula: nine rice-derived actives, from rice bran oil and rice water to rice peptides and rice inositol. The products are made in France, vegan and 90.5% to 100% of natural origin. Icons include the Perfecting Peel and the Cleansing Oil, alongside the Fundamental Serum, the Beauty Oil and the Essential Cream. The brand also runs a boutique and spa in Paris.
Why clean European skincare is winning in the US
Ingredient stories that travel: American beauty clients look for a clear signature ingredient, and rice speaks to both efficacy and gentleness.
Made in France credentials: French formulation remains a strong mark of quality for US prestige skincare buyers.
Clean and vegan by design: short, transparent formulas match the expectations of department store clients who read labels.
How Beauty Expert Consulting built the launch
Partner selection: identifying Beautyspace as the right platform to enter US department stores without opening an American subsidiary.
Negotiation: structuring the listing and the first doors with the Beautyspace teams.
Assortment: selecting the hero references best suited to American clients.
Launch coordination: aligning brand, partner and logistics for the first 5 Bloomingdale's stores.
Part of a wider international rollout
The US launch builds on Oryza Lab's French distribution, developed with Beauty Expert Consulting at Galeries Lafayette, Nocibé and Oh My Cream.
From Paris to New York, Oryza Lab is taking rice-based skincare to the world's leading beauty floors.
